Laredo is a village with a long and great musical tradition, as shown by its large historical musical heritage with numerous musical pieces. They are played by the local bands and folk groups, choirs or just by the people from Laredo.

In the district are magnificent choirs, which were formed for the purpose of studying, recovering and spreading the musical heritage left on the coast of Laredo and its surroundings by the inspiration of the people, including mountain music and its polyphony. Among the groups existing in Laredo, the Coral Salve is worthy of notice with over 25 years of musical experience supported by many prizes, disks and both local and international performances. There is also Canta Laredo, which has turned many typical folk songs famous and has organized since 1995 a musical festival called “Primaveras Musicales Pejinas”; and, Las Panchoneras, the youngest group in town, which offers entertainment at Laredo’s folk parties. Its members are dressed with the typical old customs worn by the panchoneras of Laredo, who were “women who sold fish in the towns near the village “.

All the year round you may listen to and see a large number of concerts in Laredo, whether performed by choirs from the coast or by bands or choirs from other locations. The performances usually take place in historical and magnificent buildings, mainly in the Santa María de la Asunción Church and the San Francisco Church-Convent.
