Laredo is part of the Club Villas Marineras, composed of 13 districts full of tradition and culture in the north of Spain, where fishermen shelter. The streets tell the story of the sea; its landscape is mainly blue and green. The streets include the land, sea and air, as well as welcoming people who embrace tourists with delight and always save a place for them at their tables.

They are Cantabrian (Laredo, Santoña and San Vicente de la Barquera), Asturian (Ribadesella, Llanes, Cudillero and Gijón) and Galician towns (Ribadeo, Viveiro, Ortigueira, Sada, Sanxenso and Baiona).
The variety and consistency of its leisure offer, based on the quality of the tourist services provided in these districts, are the foundations of this Road which goes along over 800 km on the northern coast of Spain.

VILLAS MARINERAS is an initiative of the following districts:

• Cantabria: Laredo, Santoña y San Vicente de la Barquera
  
• Asturias: Cudillero, Gijón, Llanes y Ribadesella
  
• Galicia: Ribadeo, Viveiro, Ortiguera, Sada, Sanxenxo y Baiona
